Why is biodiversity important? This question was addressed in an interactive workshop at this year’s DBU Jugendkongress „Jugend – Zukunft – Vielfalt“ in Osnabrück, led by Julia Siebert and Judith Wiegelmann (both yDiv PhD students). Together with the participants they explored different aspects of biodiversity and illustrated them in self-made Simpleshow videos. In the process the participants could convey their personal perspective on biodiversity as well as familiarize themselves with the concept of ecosystem services. Based on the combination of expertise the workshop could bridge current biodiversity research and didactic concepts on how to teach biodiversity. https://www.jugend-zukunft-vielfalt.de/2776.html
