This workshop deepens your knowledge and understanding of higher education didactics and enables you to develop your own didactic approaches. You will get input about a variety of didactic methods and formats as well as about productive ways of working with diverse groups of students. Perhaps most importantly, the course allows you to address and discuss concrete challenges arising from your own teaching.

Topics covered include:

  • How to promote research-based and research-oriented learning: What does this mean for the preparation of your courses?
  • How to get your students involved: suitable methods and formats
  • How to give good lectures: rhetorical and didactic strategies and methods
  • How to teach in international and interdisciplinary settings
  • Gender-sensitive and culturally sensitive teaching: challenges and opportunities
  • How to deal with difficult situations
  • How to develop new ideas and solutions

Target group: Doctoral and Postdoctoral Researchers with prior teaching experience
