Individual career coaching

yDiv offers external one-to-one coachings to promote your individual career development and get a fresh and external perspective on your career plans and work situation.

The coaches provide support in specific and individual career questions, e.g. career in and outside academia, competence analysis, working abroad, feedback on application documents, self-management or supervision and leadership. Specific topics and goals of the coaching will be set together with the coach. The meetings take place online.

What is coaching?

Coaching is a form of consulting that is individually tailored to the goals and needs of the coachee (=coaching participant). The coach does not simply provide solutions, but works out approaches to solutions together with the coachee in structured discussions. The coach accompanies and supports the coachee in reflecting on and implementing these approaches. Individual performance and a healthy way of working are thus promoted.

Our coaching offer targets the specifics and challenges of working in science as well as personal career development.

All our coaches have many years of experience in coaching and consulting and have completed certified coaching training.

How it works

Choose a coach who suits your needs best from the list below.

Contact the yDiv coordination ( to register for the programme and name the coach.

yDiv will inform the coach about your registration and the coach will contact you to make an online appointment.

The first session takes 30 minutes and focuses on getting to know each other and setting the topics and goals for the coaching. However, if any problems or doubts occur during your coaching, please contact yDiv.

You arrange further meetings with the coach individually (up to 4 hours in total funded by yDiv).

If you want to continue with the coaching beyond that, you can book further meetings with your coach on a self-pay basis (own arrangement). In justified cases, yDiv may continue paying to a certain extend. Contact yDiv for more information.
