sBIOMAPS – Exploring BIOgeographic and MAcroevolutionary Patterns in organismal Stoichiometric diversity

1st meeting: 25.-29.11.2019

PIs: Angelica Gonzalez and Olivier Dézerald

Due to a shared evolutionary history, organisms across the tree of life share a biochemistry based on carbon, nitrogen, phosphorus, and other elements. This large stoichiometric diversity ultimately reflects the evolution of diverse life history strategies related to organismal form and function as well as their responses to environmental regimes. sBIOMAPS takes an integrated and multiscale (spatial, taxonomic and phylogenetic) approach to help shed light on the major processes shaping the global stoichiometric diversity of life.

Participants:
Olivier Dézerald (UMR ESE, Ecology and Ecosystem Health, INRA), Angelica Gonzalez (Rutgers University), Karl Andraczek (Leipzig University), Ulrich Brose (iDiv/FSU) Michał Filipiak (Jagiellonian University), Stan Harpole (iDiv/UFZ), Helmut Hillebrand (Carl-von-Ossietzky University Oldenburg), Michelle Jackson (University of Oxford), Malte Jochum (iDiv/Leipzig University), Shawn Leroux (Memorial University of Newfoundland), Renske Onstein (iDiv/Leipzig University), Rachel Paseka (University of Minnesota), George Perry (University of Auckland), Amanda Rugenski (University of Georgia), Judith Sitters (Vrije Universiteit Brussel), Erik Sperfeld (University of Greifswald), Maren Striebel (Carl-von-Ossietzky University Oldenburg); Eugenia Zandonà (UNIVERSIDADE DO ESTADO DO RIO DE JANEIRO)
