TRY - Towards a sustainable archive and sharing-mechanism for plant trait data: Refining the TRY initiative

03.-05.09.2013

PI & iDiv member:
Jens Kattge

Project summary:
Sharing data is a key requirement for efficient biodiversity research. The TRY initiative has gathered an unprecedented wealth of plant traits and has become a frequently used data resource for the ecological community. The workshop aims at (1) refining the TRY data exchange mechanism to ensure it’s sustainability, (2) exploring added value and new opportunities due to archiving and exchanging plant trait data via a global database, and (3) supporting cooperation in the context of scientific core aspects of TRY.

An important part of the workshop will be addressed to refining the TRY initiative, ideally based on feedback from TRY members and the ecological community.
