Congratulation! sDiv postdoc Dr Juliano Sarmento Cabral accepted the Junior Professorship for Ecosystem Modeling at the Julius Maximilians University Würzburg. The research group is part of the recently founded Center for Computational and Theoretical Biology (CCTB) at the Faculty of Biology. The CCTB is an independent scientific unit that is located in building 32 at the Würzburg Campus Hubland Nord. Four junior professors covering very different aspects of computational biology form the core of the CCTB. As research group leader in Ecosystem Modeling, Juliano’s main research will focus on the understanding of ecological and eco-evolutionary questions. To this end, the working group will largely use mechanistic simulation models and, whenever possible, also macroecological, lab and fieldwork methods. In particular, Juliano is interested in eco-evolutionary dynamics of biodiversity across spatial and temporal scales as well as across levels of ecological organization. We wish him all the best for this outstanding opportunity!
