Andressa Cabral

Doctoral Researcher

Scientific profile

I am a botanist interested in evolutionary biology, biogeography and systematics. Since the bachelor's degree, I’ve been working with floritics and conservation in the eastern Brazilian mountains. My master’s thesis was focused in systematics, biogeography, morphological diversity and phylogenetic relationships in Barbacenia (Velloziaceae), a disjunct lineage in the Brazilian rock outcrops, mainly campo rupestre and Atlantic Forest inselbergs. During my PhD at iDiv, I’m studying the macroecology and macroevolution of plant-frugivore trait matching in the tropics.

Scientific career

2021–present. Doctoral researcher in Evolution and Adaptation (E&A Lab) research group, German Centre for Integrative Biodiversity Research (iDiv) Halle-Jena-Leipzig, Leipzig, Germany.
2017–2020. MSc. Biology (Botany). University of São Paulo, SP, Brazil.
2018. Scientific internship for the master's degree. Nees Institute for Biodiversity of Plants, University of Bonn, Germany.
2016–2017. Lic. Biology. Federal University of Juiz de Fora, MG, Brazil.
2012–2016. BSc. Biology. Federal University of Juiz de Fora, MG, Brazil.
