Andressa Cabral

Scientific profile

 

I am a botanist with expertise in trait-based biogeography of tropical plants, macroevolution, macroecology, plant-frugivore interactions, and the taxonomy and systematics of Neotropical Velloziaceae J. Agardh, especially Barbacenia Vand. Since my bachelor's degree, I have been working on floristics and conservation in the eastern Brazilian mountains. My master’s thesis focused on the systematics, biogeography, functional diversity in Barbacenia, a lineage found mostly across the eastern Brazilian mountains. My PhD at iDiv focuses on the macroevolution and macroecology of frugivory-related traits in tropical plants.
