I am studying the evolution, development, and symbiosis of marine invertebrates. My work focuses on annelids, particularly gutless siboglinid worms that live in extreme environments such as hydrothermal vents and Arctic methane seeps. Using comparative morphology, ultrastructure, and developmental approaches, I investigate how symbiosis influences organismal biology and evolutionary innovation. I am interested in interdisciplinary collaborations on marine biodiversity, evolutionary morphology, and symbiosis.
