Research Interests
I am interested in how trees respond to environmental stress and how these responses shape the functioning and resilience of forest ecosystems under global change.
My research focuses on forest responses to drought, the potential of tree diversity to buffer drought impacts, and species-specific hydro-functional strategies of trees. In my current project, I investigate how trees regulate stomatal conductance under atmospheric drought in the research arboretum ARBOfun (Großpösna). With this, I seek to further develop my expertise in ecophysiology to better understand and predict forest responses to increasing drought stress.
I am part of the International Research Training Group TreeDì – 林地 on Tree Diversity Interactions at the German Centre for Integrative Biodiversity Research (iDiv) Halle-Jena-Leipzig.
