Scientific career

Since April 2024
Leipzig University, PhD in the Jena Experiment on Soil Multistability.
Within my PhD I examine temporal stability, resistance and recovery under climate extremes. Healthy and stable soil is a prerequisite for terrestial ecosystems and has, thus, been proposed to play a key role in plant diversity-ecosystem functioning. To extend our knowledge on this topic, I investigate the biological, chemical and physical dimension of soil over time

Leipzig University, Associate PhD in the ECO-N graduate school.
To extend my view beyond natural sciences I am part of the graduate school ‘Economics of Connected Natural Commons (ECO-N)’. Thereby I want to learn more about the role of economics in nature conservation and sustainability.

2020-2023
Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg, Master Molecular and Cellular Biology.
Master thesis at the Institute for Human Genetics, Heidelberg University Hospital, Establishment
of a Bipartite Workflow for the Assessment of Molecular Anomalies in Patients with Inflammatory Bowel Disease.

Ruprecht-Karls-Universität, Interdisciplinary Marsilius Studies including seminars about the Politics of Climate Change decision making, Circular Economy and the Anthropocene. Closing lecture about the history and ethics of human tissue samples in biomedical research.

2016-2020
Karlsruhe Institute for Technology, Bachelor Applied Biosciences.
Bachelor thesis at the Max-Rubner-Institute for Nutrition, Karlsruhe, Bachelor thesis, Quantification of the intestinal human microbiome using Spike-in Bacteria A comparative analysis of fibre intake and biological sex.
