National centre established in Görlitz

Görlitz. At the request of the federal states, the federal government has established a new "Federal Documentation and Information Centre about the Wolf". The main purpose is to provide professional support for the conservation authorities of the federal states. Under the leadership of the Senckenberg Nature Research Society (SGN), the new centre is operated by a consortium of several academic institutions: the Senckenberg Museum of Natural History Görlitz (SMNG), the LUPUS Institute for Wolf Monitoring and Research in Germany, the Leibniz Institute for Zoo and Wildlife research located in Berlin (VIC) and the Senckenberg research Institute located inGelnhausen. The centre is hosted by the Senckenberg Museum of Natural History Görlitz, one of the partners of iDiv.
