Start of online consultation for Citizen Science Strategy for Germany

It is the aim of the Citizen Sciense Stragety 2020 to strengthen civil research in Germany. To drafting this strategy and to start an important process of discussion a first framework document can be commented publicly now. The aim of this consultation is to bring about a public debate the value of citizen science. The involvement of citizens in scientific processes could strengthens the research, and may have also positive effects on society. The paper shows potential, challenges and options for co-operation between researchers and citizens.
