Leipzig / Hannover. The Leipzig researcher Carsten Meyer receives a 'Freigeist' Fellowship of the VolkswagenStiftung of nearly one million Euros. The biologist will examine the social causes of global biodiversity loss over the next five years at the German Centre for Integrative Biodiversity Research (iDiv) and the Leipzig University. Revealing the complex global relationships between economy, land use and biodiversity will help to protect biodiversity more effectively in the future.
