My research focuses on how species and ecosystems respond to human-induced global change, with a particular emphasis on extreme weather events (EWEs). I use spatiotemporal models and long-term environmental data to study bird populations in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, assessing how EWEs affect species distributions and habitat suitability. This work helps identify vulnerable species, communities, and regions, and provides insights to guide biodiversity conservation under increasing climate extremes.
