Biodiversity in Gardens

For a long time, gardens were seen as artificial spaces with little ecological value. But research increasingly shows that gardens can serve as important refuges for plants and animals that have become rare in our intensively used agricultural landscapes. Yet we still know surprisingly little about the actual plant diversity found in gardens across Germany. With GartenDiv, we aim to change that. This nationwide citizen science project will be the first to map and analyze plant diversity in German gardens.
