The use of generative AI in scientific research is rapidly shifting from novelty to necessity. This transformation is accompanied by a fast-paced evolution of new methods and tools. This workshop focuses on the latest developments, challenges, and best practices for integrating generative AI into the scientific process.

The specific topics of the workshop include:

  • Advances in multimodal and agentic AI systems.
  • Conscious, responsible, and effective use of generative AI in research workflows.
  • Scientific visualizations: emerging capabilities and current limitations.
  • Locally hosted and data-secure LLMs for sensitive research.
  • Hands-on testing of new tools and methods followed by group reflection.

Dr Alexander Britz

Dr Alexander Britz is a trainer for communication and behavior with a an interdisciplinary background in chemistry, physics, and materials science. Currently, he works as a trainer and coach for young scientists, offering workshops on communication, leadership, and innovation, with a focus on improving research efficiency and fostering sustainability, diversity, and community within academia.
