Over the past few months, our focus has been on preparing the necessary structures and resources to support you and your projects, starting from 1 January 2026.
To that end, we are pleased to announce the addition of a new team member: Please join us in welcoming Nancy David-Buchholz to the iDiv family. Nancy joins iDiv as an HR Consultant and brings valuable expertise that will meet the evolving needs of the e.V.
On the structural side, we made significant progress in establishing another key body of the e.V.: the Representation Board (RB). This board has already begun engaging in essential strategic processes, including the evaluation of Junior Research Group proposals and contributing to the development of a new organizational structure for iDiv. This new structure aims to streamline our operations while emphasising the unique strengths of iDiv. We look forward to sharing more details with you in due course, once internal consultations, which are currently underway with unit coordinators and other key stakeholders, are finalised.
Additionally, iDiv’s Local Committees started re-establishing themselves within the iDiv e.V. framework. We are excited about the opportunity this presents to deepen collaboration across our four institutional locations.
Looking ahead, a primary focus in the coming months will be to provide clarity and support to colleagues whose contracts are set to expire at the end of this calendar year. This affects individuals across all of iDiv, and we recognize that each case is deeply personal. It is therefore a priority for us not only to address this issue from a central leadership perspective but also to ensure that affected colleagues have the space to discuss their individual situations privately and directly.
To facilitate this, I will offer regular office hours starting 2 June. You are welcome to drop by without prior appointment on Mondays from 09:00 to 10:00 a.m. and Wednesdays from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. in my Leipzig office (Room B.00.26). While no advance notice is required, please be aware that you may need to wait briefly if someone is already being seen. Should these times not work for you, or if your matter is urgent, please do not hesitate to reach out via email or phone. I am committed to finding time to support each individual’s situation as promptly as possible.
The foundation of your iDiv e.V. is steadily taking shape, and we are eager to continue building it — together with you.
