iDiv’s Structure

The General Member Assembly may discuss any matters relating to the purposes and objectives of iDiv and make recommendations to the Extended Board. It deliberates on reports from the Extended Board, annual accounts and activity reports (annual financial statements). The Scientific Director convenes the General Member Assembly and one of the Executive Board members chairs the meeting.

The Board of Trustees supports and supervises the Executive Board and the Extended Executive Board and fulfils further tasks assigned to it in accordance with the association’s statutes.

The Board of Trustees comprises:

• the Rectors/Presidents, the Heads of Administration and Finance, and the Scientific and Administrative Director of the involved institutions, as well as
• one representative each from the ministries responsible for science in the federal states of Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia.

Prof Eva Inés Obergfell, Rector of Leipzig University, is the current chair of the Board of Trustees.

The Scientific Advisory Board makes recommendations and comments on the thematic and structural development of iDiv. This concerns, in particular, the establishment of new research fields and the focus and structure of iDiv’s research programme.

The Scientific Advisory Board is responsible for the regular evaluations of iDiv.
