On the way to a professorship in Germany, there is a lot of bureaucracy and regulations that are not always easy to navigate. Let's talk about appointment procedures at German universities.
Matthias Schwarzkopf will briefly introduce you to how an appointment in Germany procedure generally works and present the basics of the written application. In doing so, he addresses the particular challenges: the cover letter, the research concept, and the teaching concept. The hearing - the oral part - and its pitfalls are also discussed. In addition to these impulses, as always at Q&As, there will be ample time for questions and discussion.
