Dr Emma Ladouceur

Postdoctoral Researcher
Biodiversity Synthesis

Research Interests

My interests include vegetation, regeneration and seed germination ecology, trophic interactions, and systematic decision-making applied to the most pressing questions surrounding biodiversity change, ecological restoration, conservation biology and ecosystem function. In the Biodiversity Synthesis and Physiological Diversity groups, we explicitly investigate the entire set of community assembly processes that might affect the functioning of ecosystems. We build on recent analytical advances and tools to synthesize how changes in species richness and composition driven by environmental change affect ecosystem function, to help develop the next generation of ecosystem-biodiversity interaction studies.

I am now co-leading the Global Restore Project (GRP). We are compiling community vegetation monitoring data from existing ecological restoration studies from around the world. We aim to bring together restoration researchers to pool knowledge for a better understanding of restoration through synthesis. We invite you to reach out and join us.
