Dr Ines Martins


Research Interests


My research interests are in the field of Ecology and biodiversity change. My research uses species-area models (SARs) to assess the relationship between different taxonomic groups and different types of habitats, across a wide landscape area. I have focused my PhD on gaining a better understanding of the impact and influence that certain habitat categories, and their area, have in the distribution and richness of species across the landscape, and how land use change influence the predictions of extinction rates based on SAR models.
