This course will help you understand the key research topics in biodiversity conservation and familiarize you to the actors, regulations, and tools.
The course addresses key topics in global biodiversity change, including:
- Drivers, trends and scenarios
- Ecosystem services
- Managing biodiversity: population management, ecosystem restoration, protected areas, rewilding, biodiversity offsets and agri-environmental schemes
- Monitoring biodiversity: essential biodiversity variables
- Policy-science interface: IPBES, CBD and other conventions
This is an intensive 5-day course consisting of lectures and discussion on relevant papers. An additional 30 hours of self-study is required for successful completion of the course.
