Wie k\u00f6nnen wir die Auswirkungen des globalen Wandels auf \u00d6kosysteme vorhersagen?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Das Leben auf der Erde ist miteinander vernetzt. Pflanzen und Tiere interagieren miteinander und mit ihrer Umwelt und sind daher in engen Netzwerken verbunden, die aus direkten und indirekten Energie- und Informationsfl\u00fcssen bestehen. Externe Stressfaktoren f\u00fcr \u00d6kosysteme, wie sie beispielsweise durch den globalen Wandel verursacht werden, wirken sich nicht nur auf das Individuum aus, sondern auf das gesamte System, in das sie eingebunden sind. Daher m\u00fcssen wir verstehen, (1) wie diese Systeme miteinander verbunden sind, (2) welche Mechanismen ihre Stabilit\u00e4t ausmachen und (3) wie Ver\u00e4nderungen in der individuellen Physiologie und Leistungsf\u00e4higkeit die Stabilit\u00e4t dieser Systeme und, was noch wichtiger ist, ihre \u00d6kosystemleistungen f\u00fcr den Planeten und uns Menschen beeinflussen.<\/p>\n<p>Bewegung ist ein grundlegender Prozess der meisten Organismen, der Interaktionen mit ihrer Umwelt und anderen Arten erm\u00f6glicht. Sie erm\u00f6glicht den Zugang zu Ressourcen, die Suche nach Fortpflanzungspartnern, die Verbindung r\u00e4umlich getrennter Lebensr\u00e4ume und die Suche nach Schutz vor Raubtieren oder klimatischem Stress. W\u00e4hrend sich die Ursachen des globalen Wandels wie die Klimaerw\u00e4rmung oder die Fragmentierung von Lebensr\u00e4umen direkt auf die Physiologie der Tiere und damit auf ihre grundlegenden Bed\u00fcrfnisse auswirken, werden diese Ver\u00e4nderungen durch Bewegung in Interaktionen und letztlich in ganzen Netzwerken und \u00d6kosystemen umgesetzt. Meine Hauptforschungsfragen lauten daher, wie wir Informationen \u00fcber die verhaltensbiologischen und physiologischen Reaktionen von Tieren auf den globalen Wandel nutzen k\u00f6nnen, um die Folgen f\u00fcr \u00f6kologische Gemeinschaften und deren Bereitstellung von \u00d6kosystemleistungen f\u00fcr den Menschen vorherzusagen. Ich verwende sowohl empirische als auch theoretische Ans\u00e4tze, um diese Frage zu beantworten. Diese Art von empirisch fundierter Theorie hilft dabei, aus kleinen Experimenten zu grundlegenden Prozessen gro\u00df angelegte Vorhersagen zu
