Forschungsgruppenleiterin ber\u00e4t Bundesregierung in globalen Umweltfragen f\u00fcr mindestens vier Jahre<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Prof. Aletta Bonn ist in den Wissenschaftlichen Beirat der Bundesregierung Globale Umweltver\u00e4nderungen (WBGU) berufen worden.<\/p>\n

Bonn leitet die Forschungsgruppe \u201eBiodiversit\u00e4t und Mensch\u201d am Helmholtz-Zentrum f\u00fcr Umweltforschung (UFZ), dem Deutschen Zentrum f\u00fcr integrative Biodiversit\u00e4tsforschung (iDiv) und der Friedrich-Schiller-Universit\u00e4t Jena. Sie verbindet Forschung zu Biodiversit\u00e4t und \u00d6kosystemfunktionen mit dem menschlichen Wohlbefinden. Ziel ihrer Forschung ist es, Br\u00fccken zu bauen zwischen Wissenschaft, Politik und Gesellschaft.<\/p>\n

Ein wichtiger Aspekt in Aletta Bonns Arbeit ist die F\u00f6rderung von Co-Design und gemeinsamer Wissensproduktion in der Naturschutzforschung. Sie ist in zahlreichen Projekten der sogenannten Citizen Science (\u201eB\u00fcrgerwissenschaft\u201c) involviert und leitete ma\u00dfgeblich die Erarbeitung der Citizen-Science-Strategie 2030 f\u00fcr Deutschland.<\/p>\n

Zu ihrer Berufung sagt sie: \u201eIch freue mich sehr auf die gemeinsame Arbeit im WGBU und hoffe, dass wir so die effektive Zielerreichung der globalen Biodiversit\u00e4ts- und Nachhaltigkeitsziele bis 2030 tatkr\u00e4ftig unterst\u00fctzen k\u00f6nnen.\u201c<\/p>\n

iDiv-Sprecher Prof. Henrique Pereira w\u00fcrdigt die Berufung seiner Kollegin als eine sehr gute Entscheidung: \u201eMit gro\u00dfer Freude haben wir von der Berufung unserer Kollegin Aletta Bonn an den WBGU erfahren. Prof. Bonn ist eine weltweit f\u00fchrende Wissenschaftlerin auf dem Gebiet der biologischen Vielfalt. Ihre Forschungen haben gezeigt, wie wichtig es ist, Menschen in die B\u00fcrgerwissenschaft einzubinden, um das gesellschaftliche Bewusstsein f\u00fcr Umweltprobleme zu sch\u00e4rfen. Sie ist eine interdisziplin\u00e4re Wissenschaftlerin, deren bahnbrechende Arbeit Kollegen aus verschiedenen Disziplinen einbezieht. So hat sie beispielsweise mit Psychologen zusammengearbeitet, um die positiven Auswirkungen der biologischen Vielfalt auf die psychische Gesundheit zu untersuchen. Ihr wissenschaftliches Fachwissen und ihre Bereitschaft zur Zusammenarbeit machen sie zu einer ausgezeichneten Kandidatin f\u00fcr dieses wichtige Gremium, das die deutsche Regierung ber\u00e4t.\u201c<\/p>\n

Bonn ist eines von drei neuen Mitgliedern des insgesamt neunk\u00f6pfigen WBGU. Die Berufung beginnt mit dem heutigen Tag und gilt bis zum 31.10.2028.<\/p>\n
