Evolution von Symbiosen<\/h1>

Unsere Gruppe untersucht die Evolution und \u00d6kologie von vererbten bakteriellen Symbionten von Arthropoden.<\/p>\n \n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n\n \n <\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

Diese Symbionten kommen bei sch\u00e4tzungsweise 50 % aller terrestrischen Arthropoden vor und k\u00f6nnen die Biologie ihres Wirts tiefgreifend beeinflussen, z. B. durch die Beeinflussung der Fortpflanzung, den Schutz gegen Krankheitserreger oder die Bereitstellung von N\u00e4hrstoffen. Unser Ziel ist es, besser zu verstehen, wie vererbte Symbionten so zahlreich und vielf\u00e4ltig geworden sind. Insbesondere interessieren wir uns daf\u00fcr, wie Wirtswechsel zum Erfolg der vererbten Arthropodensymbionten beigetragen haben.<\/p>\n

Zu diesem Zweck f\u00fchren wir Wirtswechsel unter kontrollierten experimentellen Bedingungen durch und dokumentieren, wie sich Symbionten in Anpassung an neue Wirtsumgebungen weiterentwickeln. Dar\u00fcber hinaus untersuchen wir nat\u00fcrliche Symbionten-Wirt-Gemeinschaften in und um Leipzig und nutzen Genomik, um die f\u00fcr Wirtswechsel wichtigen Symbionteneigenschaften zu bestimmen.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n
