Tierverhalten und Naturschutz<\/h1>

Unsere Juniorforschungsgruppe untersucht, wie tierisches Verhalten und tierische Kulturen zur biologischen Vielfalt beitragen und wie sie in den Naturschutz integriert werden k\u00f6nnen.<\/p>\n \n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n\n \n <\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

Am Beispiel von Schimpansen und Bonobos (Pan<\/em>) – einer Gattung, bei der kulturelle Verhaltensweisen besonders vielf\u00e4ltig und gut dokumentiert sind – untersucht die Gruppe Verhalten und Verhaltensflexibilit\u00e4t als Anpassungen und damit als Dimensionen biologischer Vielfalt.<\/p>\n

Ein zentrales Ziel der Gruppe ist es, Verhalten und Kultur als Bestandteile der biologischen Vielfalt zu etablieren, die ausdr\u00fccklich ber\u00fccksichtigt und \u2013 wo angemessen \u2013 auch gesch\u00fctzt werden sollten. Darauf aufbauend konzentriert sich die Gruppe auf die Erfassung und das Management dieser Dimensionen in realen Naturschutzkontexten. Gemeinsam mit Fachleuten aus dem Naturschutz entwickelt und erprobt sie Ans\u00e4tze, um zu bestimmen, wann verhaltensbasierte Strategien einen zus\u00e4tzlichen Nutzen bieten und wie verhaltensbezogene und kulturelle Informationen in allt\u00e4gliche Entscheidungsprozesse einflie\u00dfen k\u00f6nnen. Dazu geh\u00f6ren die Integration von Verhaltensdaten in die r\u00e4umliche Planung, die Entwicklung praxisnaher Biomonitoring-Konzepte unter Einbeziehung tierischer Kulturen sowie die Bewertung verschiedener Managementoptionen.<\/p>\n

Feldforschungsplattformen wie das BonDiv Project<\/a> (Verhaltens\u00f6kologie von Bonobos im Kongobecken) und das Moyen\u2011Bafing Chimpanzee Project<\/a> (Verhaltens\u00f6kologie westlicher Schimpansen in einer ariden Savannen-Mosaiklandschaft) bieten komplement\u00e4re Systeme, um diese Fragen zu untersuchen und anwendungsorientierte Ans\u00e4tze zu erproben. Auf dieser Grundlage entwickelt die Gruppe evidenzbasierte Empfehlungen, die zu einem differenzierteren und wirksameren Schutz der biologischen Vielfalt beitragen.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n
