about

To promote theory-driven synthesis and data-driven theory, efficient management of data and information ranging from molecular to global scale is required. In accordance with the DFG research data handling guidelines for biodiversity research, the Biodiversity Informatics Unit (BDU) have installed a data repository for biodiversity and ecological data. The central role of the repository is to allow iDiv researchers to manage, describe, share, store and preserve biodiversity and ecology data, based on the Find, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable (FAIR) data management principles and showcase intellectual output of iDiv.

Some of the unique features of the repository are Easy Upload workflow for structured data, Generic Minimum Information Metadata writing tool, Easy Mapping of variables with data standards such as DarwinCore (DwC) and Ecological Metadata Language (EML).The data from this repository is been made available as per the rules and regulations set in iDiv data sharing and access policy. For quick information, we recommend you to visit the FAQ section .

For more information regarding the submission of data or in case you have questions or need support and guidance for conducting data management activities, please contact us via the Biodiversity Informatics Unit (BDU) ticketing system. Please also use the ticketing system to report bugs and technical issues and to provide your valuable suggestions and feedbacks.
